SoLavage
SoLavage, an artist and producer born in Trenton, New Jersey, and now representing San Jose, California, is a proud member of The Diamond District, a renowned collective in the local music scene. Known for his versatility and introspective lyricism, SoLavage has steadily carved his own path in music, embracing growth and transformation throughout his career.
Formerly performing under the moniker Young So, his journey began in 2022 with a series of sporadic song releases that struggled to gain traction. In early 2023, he found renewed focus and began consistently dropping tracks on SoundCloud, including notable early works like “Ways,” “Everybody,” and “Microphone,” followed by a five-track EP. However, mainstream success still eluded him.
In September 2023, while Young So had stepped away from music, his track “Everybody” unexpectedly went viral. The song’s popularity reignited his momentum, with fans clamoring for more. Answering the call, he released Saint’s II, an EP that garnered immediate attention, propelled by the standout hit “Money Machine” featuring BayKay, which amassed over 300 views.
Building on this success, Young So collaborated with rising artist Sav$tar for “Not A Keeper,” released on October 10, 2023. The song became his breakout hit, surpassing all previous works and solidifying his presence in the scene.
In November 2023, Young So dropped his debut album, Graffiti. While the project received mixed reviews, it marked a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution. Following the album’s release, he entered a quiet period, resurfacing in February 2024 with the understated single “The Process,” which he chose not to promote.
In April 2024, Young So reunited with Sav$tar for a joint project titled Smooth Criminal. The collaboration was an instant success, earning over 300 views and widespread acclaim. The momentum continued with a remix feature on JFR0$TT’s “Poe The Drop” in May, drawing 200 views.
Throughout the summer of 2024, Young So embarked on a feature run that elevated his profile. Partnering with the rising star B00$KER, he delivered two massive hits, “Veteran” and “Fellinluv,” which collectively surpassed 3,000 views—his most successful tracks to date. He capped off the year with a collaboration alongside Houston-based producer Ambered2d.
After a strong feature year, Young So was ready to redefine his identity. In late 2024, he adopted the name SoLavage, symbolizing his journey and growth—a blend of “Sohan,” “Lavish,” and “Savage.” Embracing this new chapter, he announced a six-song EP set to release in January 2025, featuring contributions from $irCLOUD, G3ez, and Lil Ode.
