Alexandre Eli Morand (born August 6, 1997), better known by his stage name Smiley (also known as Mr. B.O.B), is a rapper hailing from Toronto’s Pelham Park neighborhood.

Behind the scenes, Smiley is a prominent figure in Toronto’s criminal underworld, however, since turning his talents to music, Smiley has cemented his position as one of the most exciting artists emerging from Toronto.

Fusing a lackadaisical flow and torpid cadence with gritty and descriptive lyrics, Smiley narrates the trials and tribulations he’s experienced growing up on the streets of Toronto. His trademark voice and storytelling ability have helped Smiley secure a fervent fanbase and receive support from industry staples and fellow musicians alike.

Throughout the span of 2018 and 2020, Smiley has released four projects, ranging from his Buy. or. Bye. series, alongside a playlist for the second installment, to the YVZ – LAX EP.

Smiley signed with Drake’s OVO Sound record label in 2021, and in July of that year the duo dropped “Over the Top,” catapulting Smiley to international stardom.

Smiley then dropped his debut studio album, Bye or Bye 2 on November 12, 2021. Upon of the release, however, it was known to be a commercial failure, as it was reported that the album had sold less than 1.5K sales. He then released a deluxe version on March 25, 2022, four months after the album’s release. In 2023, Smiley would release two projects; July’s I Did What I Did and August’s Garden Boyz.

On June 13, 2025, Smiley would release the mixtape Don’t Box Me In, which included the hit single “2 Mazza” featuring Drake. He would then release the deluxe version titled Never Box Me In on November 7, 2025.

Smiley is now expected to release his next upcoming mixtape Not Nice or Bye with Baka Not Nice sometime in 2026.
