Skybreak

AKA: Jack "Skye" Ramsay

Skybreak (Skye Ramsay) is a dubstep producer from New Jersey, USA. He’s known as one of the pioneers of the color bass genre, and as a prominent artist in Disciple Records and Monstercat.

Skybreak was introduced to electronic music in 2012 through Monstercat (particularly, “Renegade” by Noisestorm), which at the time, was in its hay-days. Skye later on started producing melodic bass music since 2014 under various aliases before residing with his current name, Skybreak.

Despite his melodical tracks, Skye was particularly driven by brostep, and from then, his style inclines towards it, especially with influences by Disciple Records later in the decade, until he eventually joined a growing dubstep label, Rushdown Records in 2019. From there, he eventually became one of the driving forces of color bass, especially with his dubstep capabilities.

Skybreak’s prominence rose by the turn of the decade. In 2018, he released his debut album, On The Other Side. Then, in November 2020, he made his Disciple proper debut with “Waterfall”. He became a fairly usual sighting in Disciple, with notable works including “Lumina EP” and his participation in Disciple’s megacollab in 2021. In 2022, he released “Moonglow EP”. Differentiating with a typical EP, Skybreak presented the EP as an entire storyline featuring his new mascot, Child of Light.

2023 is a year of turning point for Skye. Coming in full circle, he rise up from becoming a Monstercat fan in his childhood into a Monstercat artist with his debut track, “Lightbringer”. He instantly becomes a Monstercat regular, and releases numerous tracks under Monstercat. His presence gained grand acclaim by the label community, with most of his Monstercat tracks in 2023 entered top 10 of the label’s year-end community ranking, including his track “Accelerate” at the very top. On top of this, Skye continues to expand his artistry, with style experimentations and going onto other labels such as Ophelia and NoCopyrightSounds.

At the end of 2024, Skye repeated his Monstercat success by having his track, “Euphoria Rush” with CHYL at the top of the label’s year-end chart.

In 2025, he released his debut album, HALF BLOOD. This time, he challenged but also enhanced his past sounds by going towards UK bass styles in homage of his half-UK ancestry per the album title.
