SKARS
AKA: Lil Skars
SKARS is a genre-bending artist from Las Vegas who blends emotional storytelling with the energy of rock, gothic metal, metalcore, and nu metal. Formerly known as “Big Steppa Drew”, in 2019, he began making music in rap before evolving into a unique hybrid sound shaped by influences like Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, Kurt Cobain, and The Weeknd. His music captures pain, hope, and self-reflection crafted to be felt, not just heard.
Balancing professional grade production with raw emotion, SKARS stands out for his cinematic soundscapes and authentic vulnerability.
His breakout album/project “Nothing Lasts Forever” (2024) and later works showcase his creative range and emotional depth, making him one of the most promising rising artists in the alt rock and post emo scene. “Heartbroken Lullaby” (2024), which released the same year as his first album, is an album sprawling 20-track project that sees SKARS dive into vulnerability and sonic darkness with lyrics that explore heartbreak, blame, renewal and the fragile human heart.
His self titled “SKARS” (2025) album marks his evolution into a refined, signature sound melding crisp production, heavier instrumentation and cinematic emotional depth while still retaining the melodic hooks that first defined him. His music is more than audible, it’s felt and he creates atmospheric soundscapes where the listener steps into his pain, his hope, and his triumph. With long time collaborator and producer “tnvr” (stylized) handling much of his catalog, from mixing and mastering to full production, SKARS delivers music with studio level polish and raw sincerity.
SKARS doesn’t fit easily into one genre. He blurs rap, rock, metal, and metalcore in ways that feel fully natural rather than forced. His voice shifts from melodic clarity to gritty power without losing emotional authenticity. Meanwhile, his production and sonic presentation feel cinematic inviting followers into a mood, a journey, a story rather than simply giving a track.
