Simple Minds is a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1977. The band’s original members were Jim Kerr (vocals), Charlie Burchill (guitar), Mick MacNeil (keyboards), Derek Forbes (bass), and Brian McGee (drums). They gained a following in the UK and Europe with their early albums, such as “Life in a Day” and “Real to Real Cacophony”, which showcased their unique blend of post-punk and new wave sounds.

In the 1980s, Simple Minds achieved mainstream success with hits like “Don’t You (Forget About Me)”, “Alive and Kicking”, and “Belfast Child”. Their music often explored themes of social justice, politics, and spirituality. The band has undergone several lineup changes over the years, but Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill have remained the core members. Simple Minds has released 18 studio albums to date and has sold over 60 million records worldwide, making them one of the most successful Scottish bands of all time.
