Ryan Williams went under the name Shodi from 2015-2017 to start rapping. Realizing that he had a knack for wordplay, he demonstrated his songs in talent shows during his time in Vassar High School. His songs were received with great support from his fellow students and teachers, which led him to start writing even more. Eventually, these talent show wins led to him graduating Vassar High School with an award for English Excellence.

He became known as the top rapper in Vassar when he “won the rap battle” against Mic. Roland’s stage of diss tracks. Now, he hopes to bring his music to a wider audience. His goal is to become generally known as a rapper in the state of Michigan.

He pursues the genres of classic and conscious hip-hop. He lists his top musical influences as: Tablo, Shing02, Collective, and Kero One.
