Hailing from Queens, SHIRT is a conceptual artist, rapper, and thinker.

Originally going by T.SHIRT, SHIRT claims he spit his first verse at nine. He began rhyming, writing poems, painting, and performing spoken word downtown in New York City. His love for art and ways of thinking are very evident in his music, which includes detailed descriptions and analysis of art and artists through history. His lyrics are known to be extremely raw and personal.

SHIRT is also known for his experimental performances, sculptures, and clothing design, including a Nike and Adidas collection he made popular in 2016 that Nike sent a cease and desist to stop. Other art projects of his include faking a New York Times article, performing a silent rap in the Seagram Building, shooting a video through the Louvre, and the “Flight Home” performance rapping on top of a moving box truck.

In 2018, promoting his album Pure Beauty, SHIRT toured with the rockstar Jack White through Europe. That same year SHIRT graduated with a Master’s in Fine Art degree from a school in Basel, Switzerland where he lived for 3 years. Releasing the album We’re Still Alive amidst the pandemic in 2020, the following summer, SHIRT had a small exhibition of books and paintings in New York. In 2022, he announced that he would be taking part in an arts residency in a 15th century castle in Italy making sculptures and recording raps.
