Born Shakoveonce Ne'shay Reed, ShayyDee first gained widespread recognition from a short video of her saying “Yuh Get Into It” while sporting a long blonde ponytail and listening to Megan Thee Stallion’s song “Cash Shit.” She references this viral moment in several of her songs, including her 2020 single which is named after the iconic line.

ShayyDee also goes by “Shay” in her personal life and has opened up about several medical challenges on her YouTube channel. ShayyDee has shared she has albinism, scoliosis, seizures, and muscular dystrophy.
