Noah Shankool, known simply mononymously as Shankool, is an American indie-pop artist and producer from Bay City, Michigan and currently based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Before pursuing a career in music, he was formerly a YouTuber who went by santabunnycone where he made popular Nerf War videos he made with his friends and family.

Noah started his music career when he was a freshman in high school after his friends, who were into music and musicians themselves, convinced him to play the bass guitar, saying in a interview with Through These 4 Eyes:

I was never really into music. I was into making YouTube videos at that time and into video games and that was about it. My friends were all into music. Two of them played guitar and one of them played drums. They were like if you learn bass we can start a band. So, I started playing bass because they wanted me to. I was like why not? What do I have to lose

After learning the bass guitar and realizing his passion for music, he and his friends formed a band named Godot in 2016 where he was the bass player and main singer before disbanding a year later in 2017. Shortly after the disbanding of Godot, he began pursuing a solo career and released his project Introspectrum in 2017 the same year.
