Shakra is a Swiss hard rock band formed in 1997 in Trub, Bern. Known for their blend of melodic hooks and heavy riffs, they have been a significant presence in the European rock scene for over two decades.

The band’s early releases, Shakra (1998) and Moving Force (1999), established their sound and led to tours with acts like Great White and Uriah Heep. Their third album, Power Ride (2001), marked a turning point, introducing vocalist Mark Fox, whose dynamic presence propelled the band to new heights. Subsequent albums like Rising (2003) and Fall (2005) solidified their reputation, with performances at major festivals and tours alongside bands such as HammerFall and Stratovarius.

After a brief period with vocalist John Prakesh, Fox rejoined the band in 2015, leading to a series of successful releases, including High Noon (2016), Snakes & Ladders (2017), and Mad World (2020). Their 2023 album, Invincible, achieved significant chart success in Switzerland.
