Sha EK
AKA: Sha Everybody Killer, Chalim Perry
Chalim Perry (born April 8, 2003), professionally known as Sha EK, is an American recording artist from the Bronx, New York. He’s popular for his usage of hard-hitting, gritty drill beats and is one of the main pioneers of the now-popular Bronx drill genre.
Sha EK began his music career in 2019, being inspired by other Bronx-based artists such as Lil Tjay and A Boogie wit da Hoodie. He debuted on April 27, 2019, with his feature on close friend WockHardt’s single “Extortion.”
He began to make a buzz with his November 2020 single “Jiggy Man This, Jiggy Man That,” taking a turn on his autotune, melodic rapping style and making a new sound inspired by the popular Brooklyn drill scene. He gained hundreds of thousands of views with the song’s release on video sharing platform YouTube.
He followed up and released his debut album JIIGYONJIIGY on November 10, 2020. A deluxe version of the album with seven new tracks was released shortly after on November 26, 2020.
Months later, Sha EK rose to fame with the release of his Blockwork-assisted track “D & D” on April 22, 2021. The track blew up on the social media platform TikTok for its disrespectful lyrics. He simultaneously released his sophomore album Get Jiggy Or Die Tryin' the same day.
After his success, he started taking his music career seriously and began to release tracks weekly, most notably December 2021’s “FourSevK,” and January 2022’s “Face Of The What” and “Touch The Ground” (with Edot Babyy and SugarHill Keem), which would all gain millions of views on YouTube in a short span.
He caught the eye of Steve Carless of Warner Records and Defiant Records and signed a record deal with the two labels on March 8, 2022.
Following a streak of singles, he released his first studio album Face of the What on September 2, 2022, which would peak at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, marking his first placement throughout his career.
On November 4, 2022, he released the three-pack single O to the G with the tracks “O to the G,” “Billboard Baby,” and “Level I’m At.” The three tracks would all find their way onto his second studio album Return of The Jiggy, which was released on December 9, 2022.
Two months later, after his February 2023 single “I Stay Wit It,” he released his mixtape Most Dangerous on February 28, 2023, serving as his third studio project.
He gained a boost in popularity with his March 2023 track “Luv 4 My Block,” which would blow up on TikTok, starting a trend and ending up with 27 thousand videos using the sound. He continued with many singles, such as April 2023’s “COE Pt 2” (with B-Lovee, COE Wiki, and 150 Wiz), and June 2023’s “No Comin' Back.”
Sha EK teamed up with New Jersey native and Defiant Records signee Bandmanrill alongside producer MCVertt to release his fourth studio album Jiggy In Jersey on August 11, 2023, scoring features within the likes of Trippie Redd and Lil Zay Osama.
Only seven days after his previous album Jiggy In Jersey, on August 18, 2023, he released his fifth studio album Courtlandt Over Everything.
