“Scrim” is Scott Arceneaux Jr.’s, from rap duo $UICIDEBOY$, solo alias. A stage name which was used predominately in $B songs. Sometime in 2024, he dropped the dollar sign and attributed “Scrim” to his solo career.

Debuting as far back as 2009 on MySpace as a producer under the name “adudenamedscrim”, Scrim’s first available release came in 2010 via a mixtape called Real Like True Stories by fellow New Orleans rapper Coolest, as both the primary producer and occasional feature. Scrim would go on to create his own mixtapes, including Narcotics Anonymous, #DrugFlow, #DrugFlow 2, Patron Saint of Everything Totally Fucked, Full Plates, and Nightmare on Rising Sun Street before the formation of $UICIDEBOY$ with his cousin Ruby da Cherry.

In 2020, Scrim dropped A Man Rose from the Dead, his first solo studio album since Full Plates in 2013. Continuing this run in 2023, after a 3 year break from solo work, Scrim released lonely boy that came with a 44-track deluxe version. Following the exceptional response from via crucis in 2025.

In April 2026, Scrim began teasing his biggest project yet, runaway which is set to be released in 2026.
