Rustage
AKA: TheDumplingz, Daniel Rustage
Daniel Rustage is a British Nerdcore artist who writes and composes raps for popular pieces of nerd culture, most commonly for various animes.
Rustage oftentimes collabs with artists who are not as big as he is. When asked in an interview with xFayze on why he does this, he mentions that it is a win-win situation for both him and the smaller artist while also making the song better than he could on his own.
Not only will it get you the voice, err, verse, but it will also be incredible and you’re helping them out at the same time. It’s just like wins all around.
Rustage first appeared on YouTube on November 23, 2011, under the name “TheDumplingz” with his first-ever video and song, “Bad British rap”. When asked by xFayze on how he made this rap, Rustage revealed that it was because he was used as part of an insult against someone who was rapping badly.
On May 19, 2012, he would release his first-ever album onto his Bandcamp, titled The Tree Delusion. Two years later, Rustage would go on to remix and cover songs such as “Let It Go”.
On July 31, 2014, Rustage released his album, Unlinked. This album contained his first songs under the name “Rustage” as well as featuring his first-ever collaboration with Chi-Chi.
Nearly half a year later, Rustage released his first Nerdcore rap song, “SCOUT RAP”. The song was based on the Scout class from the video game Team Fortress 2 as it was one of his favorite games. Despite having released songs under the name of “Rustage” beforehand, “SCOUT RAP” was released under “TheDumplingz”.
He would go on to make more covers and remixes on his own until June 1, 2015, when he uploaded “SPLATOON RAP” with RE:MAKE. After this, he would go on to feature more artists in his music.
On May 13, 2017, Rustage released Atlantic, his first official album with his first official song to streaming services. The album would also mark his first-ever collaboration with artists such as FabvL, GameboyJones, and Zach B.
He would then make various anime rap songs up until 2021, in which he would release his second official album, Overflow. It was an original album in which he would talk about various topics that were personal to him.
He would continue to make various anime raps until things took a slight turn in 2023. Here, he started making raps on history and mythology as well. His first history rap was “Mythos (Greek Gods)”, a rap centered around Zues, Poseidon, and Hades.
He would continue to make anime raps and throw in a history rap every now and then. Then on June 20, 2025, he dropped one of the biggest history raps he’s ever done, “Leaders of History”. This was a cypher with a total of twenty artists rapping about various leaders of history throughout time. Out of every cypher he’s made, he said that this was the best cypher he’s ever made.
Since then, Rustage has created raps about various anime, games, and parts of history, including Solo Leveling, Naruto, and One Piece. Since his start, he has accumulated well over one million subscribers and eight hundred million views on his YouTube channel.
