My name is RottenMynded, but on multiple mixtape sites I became known as “Rot~n”. I grew up in the Bronx, New York with nothing much to escape with but music. With help from a childhood friend named Loopy Snoopy, I was able to become more skillful at songwriting, and that led to literally thousands of songs being written. As I aged, I realized there wasn’t much more I knew how to do, other than write and learning to produce beats, and that was my escape from mental illnesses such as anxiety, mood disorders and severe depression. From early teens to adulthood, suicide seemed like the answer but instead I continued to find relief in music due to the freedom of expression. As an adult I became influenced by everything around me, such as streets, drugs and alcohol, money, etc. and lived a little bit of any lifestyle. By doing so, I continued to grasp more to write music about and although I love making street music, sometimes I like giving a voice to people who haven’t found one yet, via perspective writing (songs from another person’s point of view). My music may vary from conscientious lyrics of heartbreaks and pain, to street and humor; thankfully, experience has granted me the opportunity to speak on so many topics. Too many years of my life have been devoted to music writing, and I think it’s about time I show the world the diversity one artist himself can bring to the center of the table.
