Rose Chronicles is a shoegaze, dream pop Canadian rock band from the 1990s, active from ‘93 to '96. Consisting of Kristy Thirsk (vocalist), Richard Maranda (guitarist), Judd Cochrane (bassist), and Steve van der Woerd (drummer), their debut was the Dead and Gone to Heaven EP in 1993. Their first full-length album, Shiver, was released about a year later, winning the Juno award for Best Alternative Album.
However, while working on what would end up being their final album, the band began fighting amongst themselves, leading the bassist and drummer to leave in 1996. The remaining members grouped with drummer Trevor Grant and bassist Howard Redekopp to complete the final song for the album, which was then released. Following this, the band announcing their breakup.

Kristy Thirsk became a solo artist, releasing an album in 2003 and 2014, as well as an EP in 2008, leaning into more modern pop.
