Maitreya Williams II, better known as Riven (formerly lil altima riven), is a Houston Texas based artist known for his cryptic mystique and dark style. He has previously credited the MOBA game League of Legends for this name. Riven officially started his music career in 2013 with his first ever track, “Blade” uploaded to SoundCloud under the stage name “Rouq”. Riven’s dad is also a rapper going by the name of Big Shang, and inspired Riven get into hip-hop and rap music.

In his songs, Riven often talks about his technique to make money and the sacrifices he had to make to get where he is today. Riven started getting bigger numbers in 2017, 2018 and 2019, with releases like “run it up!”, “dash”, “highways!”, “robin!” and many more.
