Ricky Rydell Dillard (born February 25, 1965) is an acclaimed American gospel musician known for his dynamic choir direction and contributions to contemporary gospel music. Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, Dillard’s musical journey began in his youth, influenced by his mother and grandmother, which led him to sing in church choirs from the age of five.

In the mid-1980s, Dillard was active in Chicago’s house music scene, collaborating with notable figures like Frankie Knuckles. He provided vocals for The Night Writers' 1987 track “Let the Music Use You.” Despite his involvement in house music, Dillard’s passion for gospel remained strong, leading him to form his own choir, Ricky Dillard & New G (New Generation Chorale), in 1988.

Dillard’s debut gospel album, Promise, was released in 1991 under Muscle Shoals Records, marking his official entry into the gospel genre. He continued to build his discography with albums like A Holy Ghost Take-Over (1993) and Hallelujah (1995) under Malaco Records.
