Retracide
Retracide were a rock band originating in Willetton, Western Australia in 1999 who broke up around 2004/2005.
Band biography:
Retracide was formed in 1999 when Daniel Fry, Aaron Perry, Daniel Tapper and Ben Marshall discovered a music interest whilst studying year 12 at Willetton.S.H.S.They started things off with a few originals, entering local band competitions and amusing themselves taping their jam sessions.
Before long they were participating in many band competitions and eventually became a regular at the Taipan room in Northbridge during 2000-2001.
The bands lineup however changed during 2001 when drummer Ben Marshall decided he had enough of the limelight. He was replaced by Scott Verney brother of Retracide roadie Nathan Verney. The change was short lived however as Scott moved on and Ben Marshall decided that he missed the limelight.
Retracide are endowed with excellent song writing abilities and have something to offer anyone. Retracide, like Pauly Shore, are versatile and entertaining.Their great song writing ability keeps the news songs coming so that there’s always something new to hear and their sounds stay fresh.
Retracide have come a long way from their garage sounds of 99 evolving to become a successful hard rock outfit and have released a number of CDs (available from website).
Among Retracide’s achievements is their overseas gig at the offshore board rider’s benefit. Retracide are also known as the ‘cide, Willetton’s finest, Willetton’s finest hard rock band and Danny Sunshine and friends.
