restless pines (a.k.a. autumn willow) is a British mallsoft and ambient artist. Drawing upon field recordings and familiar-sounding samples to create nostalgic soundscapes, their initial EPs took inspiration from Center Parcs resorts.

autumn explained the meaning of her artist name in an interview with Genius' Indie Monday:

i think it’s mostly to do with the setting of Center Parcs! it’s known for its pine trees. and i guess i’m restless inherently. i always like to move around and not stay rooted which… i guess is very un-treelike. but hey, an oxymoron!

///branched.detective.revision, restless pines' first EP, was released in February 2026. Later that same year, in April 2026, they released their first single, and at the end of the same month, she released her second EP, Paradise (1994-2022).

In May 2026, autumn willow released their second single, “anguish;”. Later that same month, on May 31st, they released 18th May, 2026, their third EP. This was followed hours later, on June 1st, by “hope.”, her third single.

Following this, restless pines experienced a period of creative block, which they later noted had been ongoing since the release of “hope”, up until the release of their fourth EP, sunset, wherever you are, released on August 4th, 2026. Like 18th May, 2026, it leans less into a mallsoft feel than previous EPs, not being centered around Center Parcs.
