Rayna Shine

Rayna Shine (Azar S. Bogan) began her career in music at the age of 16 when she taught herself how to DJ.
After having interned at the promotions department of Interscope Records in L.A., she secured her own shows on college and community radio stations in Montreal, Canada. Her all-female hip hop radio show, ‘Cypher’ on CKUT 90.3 FM garnered international attention and aired from 1998 through 2003. During this time, Azar held various positions in the local music scene in Montreal. Azar became the official electronic DJ at FLIPR, the first legal peer-to-peer file-sharing service for music. Azar further developed her contacts by introducing digital distribution to record labels worldwide.

In 2002, Azar produced and released the “Fall Back” / “Take Off” 12" vinyl on her own Rainmakerz label, that received accolades from The Source, Elemental, URB, and many other publications. In 2003, she was accepted into NYU’s elite Music Business Graduate Program. While completing her Masters, she ran the operations of Day By Day Entertainment (MF Grimm), a national independent distribution company based in New York City and was responsible for over 15 releases (2003-2006). After a brief internship at Universal Motown, she went on to work in the A&R Department. During this time, she began managing the careers of hip hop artists Poison Pen, Eternia and Brooklyn Academy. She went on to consult for other and artists the likes of Viper Records, Hasan Salaam and The Kin.

In 2007, Azar began coordinating an exclusive music industry showcase series R&B Live New York, now known as Spotlight Live. The series hosted the likes of Fantasia, J Holiday, Ne-Yo, Brian McKnight, Mya, Danity Kane, and many others. The following year, Azar moved on from Universal Motown and helped build Alpine Music Group, the management & publishing company that housed hit songwriters and producers (responsible for songs by Justin Bieber, One Direction, Musiq Soulchild and many more).

In 2012, Azar left Alpine and founded Enigma Management to fully guide the careers of talent that she was passionate about, such as renowned singer/songwriter/producer August Rigo, Ginette Claudette, and others.
