Ray Parker Jr. is a Detroit born and raised guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer best known for his work in R&B and pop from the 1970s through the 1990s. He first gained recognition as a session guitarist, playing for artists like Stevie Wonder and the Spinners before forming the group Raydio in the late 1970s, scoring hits such as “Jack and Jill” and “You Can’t Change That”. As a solo artist, Parker achieved worldwide fame with his 1984 chart-topping theme song “Ghostbusters” as featured in the movie Ghostbusters. The song became his signature hit and a pop-culture staple.
