Rarin
Rumen Tassev (born December 5, 2002), known professionally as Rarin, is a recording artist and producer from Palm Beach, Florida. He is known for his versatility and is signed to his own record label, Rarin LLC, a major milestone he once described as one of his musical goals in his #FaZe1 submission.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rarin expressed his frustration with the music industry:
What made it harder is these major labels coming in, they sweep the floor, buy out everyone, raise the prices, cut out a lot of independent artists, now that everyone’s marketing, it’s oversaturated.
In an interview with honeypop, as noted on his last.fm biography, Rarin credited Lil Peep as his biggest inspiration:
He’s helped me be more genuine in my music and he’s also given me confidence in who I am. Lil Peep could definitely be seen as an outsider at first, but his connection and emotional impact on his fans are astounding. I aspire to have that type of connection.
On June 18, 2020, Rarin released his breakout single, “GTA,” which went viral after being widely used in Fortnite montage edits. The track’s success propelled him to fame and was followed by another viral hit, “YESSIR!,” on November 6, 2020.
Reflecting on his unexpected rise, he shared with honeypop:
I never really expected my songs to blow up through video games. I used to edit gaming montages, so it’s crazy to me that my music is being used in videos similar to what I used to edit.
On June 25, 2021, he released his first studio album, Toxic Ends, featuring nine tracks and collaborations with BrxkenBxy and Darius King.
