Qualle, born Derrick Kowalczuk, is an artist that was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When Derrick was young his family moved 2 hours north to Erie, a small city on the lake of the same name, where he would grow up. He started off expressing himself through all different kinds of art before finding music in early 2019. He started by writing poems and songs in a journal but never recorded anything or took it too seriously. This changed halfway through his senior year of high school when he started focusing heavily on music and released his first official song in May titled “Worth It” and followed it up with “Without You” in October and ‘Star Struck" in November.
