PoiZoN (born Chayton Takoda Brown, on December 21, 2011), is a 15-year-old rapper from Bakersfield, California who covers genres from boom bap to trap to west coast hip hop.

Originally growing up in the suburbs of Southwest Bakersfield, she was initially more inspired by radio hits by artists like Ariana Grande & Dua Lipa. However, a family move into the more northern area of the city, Oildale, combined with her dad’s music tastes were the first initial exposure to the world of hip-hop. She found artists like Kendrick Lamar & JID to inspire her on this journey.

Her shy demeanor and personality off stage is a sharp turn from how dedicated she is to her passion. Her first music was on a separate channel and artist, making songs about spaghetti and chicken nuggets all the way back in April 2022. Over the years of 2022 and 2023 were constant single releases, rapping over type beats about random topics.

2024 marked the first release as PoiZoN with “ICON”, a fast-paced single released only on YouTube. Her debut album “LOST” was pulled back off of streaming platforms with several tracks deleted off YouTube as well due to not feeling proud of the album.

Throughout 2025, releases became slightly less frequent as she began to focus more on quality rather than quantity. Several releases have been YouTube only, over a larger variety of genres rather than just hip-hop.

In 2026, less frequent releases have continued as she continues to slowly level up her craft and artistic identity.
