Poetics started his music career in Portland, Oregon, before moving to Nashville, Tennessee. While in Nashville, he met Reflection Music Group artist Canon and the two developed a mentor-protégé relationship with Canon teaching Poetics how to produce. As of 2020, he resides in Phoenix, Arizona.

Since his debut in 2015, Poetics has been credited on more than 200 released songs by artists including KB, Futuristic, Chuuwee, Derek Minor, Canon, KJ-52, Dre Murray, Anike, Byron Juane, Eric Heron, Jarry Manna, Surf Gvng, and more.

Chosen for Rapzilla.com’s Freshman Class of 2019—only the second producer ever selected—Poetics has been interviewed by Elevator Magazine, Rapzilla, Trackstarz, and other hip-hop focused outlets. Respected in both the hip-hop and lo-fi instrumental communities, Poetics continues to release music across boundaries, refusing to be confined to any single category.
