Perrie (EGY) - بيري
AKA: Perrie Omar El Hariri
Perrie first burst onto the scene five years ago with her viral hit, “Shigella,” a diss track of sorts that took aim at a certain tone-deaf song, “Salmonella,” by Egyptian influencer Tameem Younes. However, Perrie’s story predates that by almost a decade.
A rare example of a female rapper breaking through the ceiling in Egypt’s rap scene, she has gone on to work with the likes of producer Wezza Montaser, collaborated with shaabi legend Ortega, and counts Abyusif as something of a mentor. It’s been a brief but memorable ride for the Egyptian-Moroccan, but one that’s still at its beginning.
