Permaband is the in-house band for CCP Games, an Icelandic video game developer best known for developing the MMORPG EVE Online. They have posted several comedic rock songs to YouTube, usually accompanied by over-the-top music videos and lyrics that frequently reference the game.

The band was founded in 2009 by CCP employees CCP ArnarV, CCP Guard, CCP Nova and CCP Arkanon. Their name is a pun on the phrase “permabanned”, a common term in gaming communities used to refer to permanently banning a user, usually due to cheating or spamming.

The band gained some exposure in 2017 after having two of their songs appear as free DLC for Rock Band 4 – specifically, the songs “Killing Is Just a Means” and “Wrecking Machine”. These songs were released for the game to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary.
