Born in Minsk, Kiryl started writing songs after his first breakup in 2018. What began as a way to express his feelings through lyrics eventually grew into something much bigger. Since then, he has been writing songs using acoustic guitar and ukulele.

Between 2019 and 2021, he experimented, wrote more and more lyrics, putting his life and everything that happened around him into his songs. He recorded his first demos and came up with countless different concepts and ideas.

In 2022, he teamed up with Lithuanian producer Irmantas Aleliunas and officially released his first single, “Friends,” on Spotify, followed by several more singles and his debut album, “The Girl Of My Dream.” Since then, pastghoster has continued doing whatever he can to bring to life everything he has ever captured in his imagination.

His songs are about letting go of the past while keeping perhaps just a little slice of it deep in your heart — carrying it not with regret, but with gratitude. That is where the name “pastghoster” comes from. “The ghosts of the past” was originally supposed to be the title of the first project Kiryl wrote 11 songs for back in 2018.

“Maybe one day, when the time is right and I’m ready to put it all together professionally, this project will finally see the light of day. I’ll unpack my real past and truly show what I wanted my first album to be. It will just come out much later… but at the right time, I hope.”

In 2026, pastghoster released his sophomore album, “Of A Feather,” exploring themes of belonging, love, paths of self-discovery, human nature, and whether a person can truly change — mostly through birds as its central metaphor.

Later that year, pastghoster presented the “SONGS” EP, which came as a little surprise and returned to a more “back to the origins” sound. He has also announced several upcoming projects, including a Deluxe Edition of “Of A Feather”; an Early Recordings compilation, “All These Bees Around You,” containing unreleased material, live recordings, and demos; a remastered and re-released version of the EP “Blood For The Freedom, People Will Fight”; and an EP prepared for Christmas, then so much more.

pastghoster intends to keep making and performing music until he brings all of his ideas to life — no matter how much success they may find. Music made him who he is, and he will keep creating. As the artist himself always says:
