A.J. Iqbal, aka P. Contender is a songwriter, producer, and engineer. From Lenoir City, Tennessee, he didn’t start releasing songs until 2009, going under the name Method One.

He released two DIY rough mixtapes ‘Oh, Really?’ and ‘Songs Written’ before changing his name due to another artist already having it.

Going by Panda Contender (which was later shortened to P. Contender) he started the collective Owl Squad in early 2011, recording and mastering their only EP they released ‘Breakage’.

He then released ‘Honest Work’ in 2014, and has put out numerous mixtapes since then. His debut album, ‘Raindrops On Ro$es’ is set to be released November 10, 2017.
