Oualid Roshdy, known professionally as Oualid, is a Moroccan-Egyptian-Dutch singer, rapper, and songwriter born on September 16, 1993, in Ceuta, Spain, and raised in Amsterdam-East. From the age of 14, Oualid knew he wanted to pursue music, inspired by his cousins Yes-R and Ali-B. He began performing locally and quickly gained attention after the release of his debut single, “Die Kleine Dingen”, which became an internet hit in 2011.

In 2012 and 2013, Oualid toured Amsterdam with the youth campaign “Im In”, using his music to promote positivity and motivation among young people. During this period, he released the empowering track “Do Your Best”, further solidifying his role as a voice for youth empowerment.

In 2014, he co-founded his own music studio, NokeyzMusicNL, with longtime producer Tommy Zijlstra, allowing him to further develop his sound and produce for other artists.

Oualid gained international recognition in 2022 with the viral single “Jini”, followed by the acclaimed 2023 EP Nafsi, which blended Afro-Arab and Dutch urban styles and reached over 100 million streams globally. He performed live for over 250,000 fans in M'diq, Morocco, and continued his rise with Nafsi (Pt. II) in 2024.

Today, Oualid is known for his multilingual, cross-cultural sound that reflects his diverse background, and for his commitment to authentic, emotionally driven music.
