Origin Storey
Malachi Pinckney-Storey, also known as Origin Storey was born on January 27, 2003, in Manchester, Connecticut. Malachi started writing in middle school where his deepest cuts like “Dear Middle Siblings” and “Rising Up” were cultivated. These early ideas piqued his interest in producing, and he quickly started creating music. Frequent Collaborator, HYP3R has had continuous features and collaborations from 2015 up to now. Feeling confident and insecure in his musical strives he released his debut single “Melodies & Remedies”. Origin Storey knew his style may be predictable after dropping “Verified” soon after so he switched production with “Kick Back”.
Only a day before his birthday he dropped “Execute” as a lyrical exercise to showcase what to expect on his upcoming album, “Original” which was released on his birthday with tracks that set the stage for the themes that would later appear frequently in his work. After dropping the album it didn’t take long for him to start something for his next release. Working nonstop on writing and producing his next album when he decided to tackle a more traditional R&B song “In My Veins,” adding trap drums to the arrangement. Origin Storey’s next release was by far his most vulnerable, “Omen / Omen II”. He’d speak on his family’s generational curses that he wants to break and question whether he could end them all by himself. This pressure only built a foundation by having faith in himself no matter how many people act like they know or understand him, which he addressed in “Fauxlk Tales”.
Months later Origin Storey released “Original+” which served as a deluxe to “Original” because of tracks such as “Last Angel” and “Apology” followed up on tracks from “Original” like “Purpose” and “What If / Answer Me” respectively.
