OKPOP is a K-pop group of four members: Brto, Hanbon, Paige, and Smear. Their producer is Yuuta, also known as El Japo. Notably, all members of the band are non-Koreans, except Brto, who is the sole songwriter for the group. The group was created for former member, Po’s video “Can a White Guy make a KPOP Group?”.

OKPOP debuted on March 26, 2023, with the single “TAKE MY HAND”, followed by the single “LOOK ME IN THE EYES” on April 6. They released their remix EP, JERSEY CLUB EP, consisting of Jersey Club remixes of both singles. Meanwhile, the singles would later be on the group’s debut EP KINDA KOREAN.

The group rose to prominence by utilizing numerous marketing techniques, including tramp stamps (which would later appear on “TAKE MY HAND”’s artwork, an apology video, starting drama (accusing K-pop group NewJeans of copying their KINDA KOREAN EP cover – in reality, their artwork is a parody drawn by a hired artist), and baiting relationships. This culminated in the group performing at the TASA Night Market. Later they changed their mascot similar to the Kanye bear
