O’kenneth

Born Kenneth Opoku, O’Kenneth is a pioneering force in Ghana’s Asakaa (drill) movement, known for his commanding voice, raw lyricism, and introspective approach to storytelling. Emerging from Kumasi’s underground scene in 2016, he gained international attention in 2020 with standout verses on the viral anthems “Ma Drip” and “Akatafoc,” records that helped introduce Ghanaian drill to a global audience.

That same year, he and Reggie released Straight Outta Kumerica, a defining project that crystallized the sound and identity of the Kumerican wave. His 2021 solo debut, Until It’s All Said and Done, explored themes of struggle, loyalty, and survival with emotional depth, while Straight Outta Kumerica 2 (2022) highlighted his evolution and versatility.

Rooted in Kumasi yet resonating far beyond it, O’Kenneth continues to shape the direction of contemporary African rap — balancing street authenticity with the reflective artistry that has become his signature.
