Dylan Parise better known by his stage name occXpied is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Hailing from Ontario, Canada, occXpied is an Independent artist.

Delivering his first Single in 2018, occXpied has been continually putting out tracks from that point onward. With his main genre of music being Punk and Hip-hop, occXpied had to find his own path to be different amongst all his peer rappers and Punk music producers.

At the time of his first release, Dylan had “Dylzn Raps” as his stage name but he was thinking about what could attract people who like to think. I ended up choosing “occXpied”. It simply means that when you’re listening to my music you’re currently occupied.

occXpied describes his music as basically a giant mood swing. He creates tons of different styles so whenever he’s writing, it just flows with how he’s feeling.

His creative process has honestly been a journey and a half so far. There’s not too much he can say other than the fact that he only noticed his progression in time. Never overnight.

His come-up story wasn’t the greatest but really wasn’t the worst. he started writing music to cope with depression as a child at 10 years old so he could release stress & anger out from school and his peers around him. A few years later he saw an Instagram post with someone rapping over a Shiloh dynasty-type beat. It was a pretty sad video and occXpied related to it so he wanted to try. Writing & writing & writing, occXpied finally made something he could use on a beat. He recorded himself through another phone for about a year until he got to SoundCloud.

Posting his first track “Imagination”. occXpied reached his first 1,000 streams overnight! He was amazed! So he recorded 4 more and THEY reached 1,000 streams the first week of their release as well! Fast forward to the summer of 2019 when he reached a total of 1 million streams on SoundCloud. The first time seeing a big 1M on his screen! The summer of 2020 was rolling up and things slowed down a bit! With a grand total of 1.5M streams overall! 2020 was a slow year due to occXpied moving and getting caught up in bad habits but nonetheless, he kicked back up!

Through the years occXpied has written over 1,000 songs and he’s still going to this day. With a total of 4M overall streams Globally.

occXpied’s inspiration to make music was trying to help other people get through tough situations like him and finding a coping mechanism to deal with depression and anxiety
