nævis is a virtual character artist under SM Entertainment. She was made for aespa’s self-cinematics universe as an AI system that helps the æs of aespa appear in the real world.

nævis made her first appearance through MY, KARINA teaser video and then in aespa’s music videos, “Next Level,” “Savage,” and “Girls.” She also appeared in aespa’s universe-building series SM Culture Universe every episode. In the end credits of the third episode, nævis said she wanted to go to real world, hinting at her official debut.

On May 2023, aespa released “Welcome To My World” featuring nævis, a pre-release single for their third mini-album, which introduced the public to her voice for the first time. aespa’s member NINGNING revealed later that “Welcome To My World” was made for nævis' debut single, but they stole it to be their own single. One year later, on September 10, 2024, SM Entertainment officially debuted nævis as a solo artist with the debut single, “Done.”
