The series introduced its first five characters: One is cheerful and eager, always excited to explore the world of numbers. Two is playful and loves pairing up, often seen teaming up with One. Three is full of energy, enjoys juggling, and brings a magical touch to the mix. Four takes pride in being a square and enjoys making square shapes with his blocks. Five is a superstar who loves giving high-fives.

With the success of its first season, Numberblocks expanded its cast in Series 2, which premiered on 27 October 2017. This season introduced five new characters Six to Ten, along with more advanced math concepts: Six loves dice and games, always ready to roll. Seven is lucky and brings rainbows and good fortune. Eight, also known as Octoblock, is a brave superhero who thrives on adventure. Nine is sturdy, dependable and enjoys being a square. Ten is always ready to help and takes big steps forward.
