Nasty Matt
Na$ty Matt is an underground rapper, producer, and songwriter from Louisville, Kentucky whose music helped shape the darker, lo-fi side of cloud rap during the early 2010s. Emerging from the internet rap scene, he gained recognition through his affiliation with TeamSESH and collaborations with artists like Bones and $uicideboy$, developing a cult following for his hazy production, Memphis-inspired aesthetics, and emotionally charged lyricism.
His early projects, including WastedEye (2013), Matthew (2014), Born 2 Lose Shawty (2015), and MIDNIGHT (2016), blended bleak storytelling with distorted 808s, eerie samples, and introspective themes of isolation, addiction, and self-destruction. While his music fit naturally alongside the emerging cloud rap and underground horrorcore movements, Na$ty Matt developed a style that was distinctly his own—melancholic, raw, and deeply personal.
Although no longer an official member of TeamSESH, Na$ty Matt has remained a respected figure in the underground, occasionally producing and collaborating with artists from the collective. His influence continues to be recognized by longtime fans of the SoundCloud era and the early internet rap scene, where his catalog remains a cult favorite years after its original release.
