Nanku
AKA: Udbhav Shaastri, Nanku Sharma, Shaastriji, Udbhav, Udbhav Acharya
Udbhav Acharya, one-third of the disbanded Delhi collective Teesri Duniya, has grown into one of the most shapeshifting voices in the Indian indie scene, moving easily between rapping, singing, and production. He began making music in school, around ninth standard, first leaning into Bollywood-inspired sounds before writing his own lyrics.
The name “Nanku” itself carries a personal history, it was his childhood nickname, inspired by the fact that he was born at his nanke, his maternal grandparents’ home. Before fully settling into the Nanku identity, he performed under the names Udbhav and Shaastriji (his grandfather’s name), a phase that fans often refer to as his more experimental “Shaastri Ji” era. By the time he released Milansaar – his first EP in 2021, he was already being heard as a producer-singer who could slip between playful pop, introspective rap, and richly textured songwriting.
That evolution is clear across his releases: Jaadui Ghadi (2020), Nanku Sharma (2020), YATI (2021), Milansaar (2022, as Udbhav), Naharpur Prints (2023), and now Pyar N’ Stuff (2026), which stands as his most refined project yet.
