Namitape (JP: ナミテープ), formerly WaterAqua, makes nostalgic synth-pop and dance music. He also creates his own music videos and illustrations.

On December 3, 2021, Namitape (then WaterAqua) announced on his YouTube channel that he would be changing his alias to Namitape. The next year, on March 16, 2022, he released his first album, “POSITION.”

On June 25, 2022, Namitape released his first single “ミラレルミラー (Mirareru Mirror).” Soon after, he announced his 2nd album, “Flitter,” which includes “ミラレルミラー (Mirareru Mirror),” the title track of the single.

On March 25, 2023, “Flitter,” Namitape’s second album, released, and a year later on July 20, 2024, “Overfeel,” Namitape’s third album released. However, Namitape took an extra year to create “hetoheto room,” his newest and last album, which released on March 22, 2026. In that time, Namitape released songs such as “Level3999” and “my terminal,” which are collaborations with other artists.

On his website, namitape.com, he stated he will “conclude activities in 2026 and plans to start posting works under a new name.”
