Joseph Van Cil, commonly known under the moniker “MyHeadIsEmpty” or “MHIE” is an electronic, math rock, dream pop, ambient artist who produces his own songs. Joseph was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in 2021 and has been making music since 2018. Joseph has been trying to make his own genre of music to honor his late friend Jake Skowronski who was sadly murdered (which was the whole point of “nothing is real”). Due to his MS, Joseph is slowly dying and had to re learn how to play his instruments. Joseph has also temporarily been losing his ability to walk and see. He is most commonly known for his viral songs “I was only temporary”, “a way out, and “I was only temporary 2 U”. MyHeadIsEmpty has collaborates with artists such as his wife Miranda Rain, Castle Hearts, Daniel.mp3, and many others. Although his health is declining Joseph is still does what he loves, making music. He has made music for TERRIFIER 3, video games, and numerous television series.
