MODI was born as 김용진 (Yong-jin Kim) on March 27th, 2002, and is an artist who first gained national recognition in 2016 at the age of 15, appearing on TV as the kid genius who designed a functional Iron Man suit.

In 2024, he was re-interviewed by the same program in a life update, where he shared that he is attending Yonsei University, working in an AI startup, and also producing his own music. He debuted as a singer in 2024 under the name MODI 9short for “motivation”, and also released an album entitled MODIVATION.
