Mixed Mode

Based in Orlando, Florida, Mixed Mode is a mixed a cappella ensemble hailing from the University of Central Florida. Founded by Max Kuchenreuther and Nate Barone in the Fall of 2015, Mixed Mode was created with the intent to craft innovative soundscapes with the power of the voice and mouth.

Less than two years later, Mixed Mode saw unforeseen successes in the contemporary a cappella competitive circuit – placing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, made popular by the 2011 hit film, “Pitch Perfect,” as well as taking home awards for outstanding choreography and visual performance. Mixed Mode later saw success in competing at the SoJam XV A Cappella Festival in 2017, alongside a cappella favorites like Gestalt, KeyHarmony, and Reverb. At the end of 2017, Mixed Mode brought their debut EP, Mixology, into the world. This four-track extended play, carefully crafted by Mixed Mode and the genius minds at The Vocal Company, is the celebration of the music that catapulted Mixed Mode into the a cappella spotlight in the South and the East Coast.
