Hi, I’m Angel ‘Mistazel’ El Gamal. I was born in PG County Maryland but moved around the DMV a lot growing up. For a short while I’ve lived in Fairfax, Annandale, South East DC, Capitol Heights MD, and Fort Washington MD. When I turned 19, I moved out and flew to Houston Texas to work for YaBoiAction, and it was with him I discovered my love for making music.

See, I grew up performing. I was in the Allstate VA choir all through Middle and Highschool before dropping out/being pulled out of school by my parents. I was a Bass 2 and loved singing. Singing alongside a group of other people made me feel connected and confident, something I’ve always struggled with. When Action asked me to freestyle with him in the booth in Houston, I discovered I didn’t just love formal performances, but I also loved that rush of MAKING music. It started off as a joke, I would just make meme bars that were “gay” inspired by Digbar and joke raps that reminded me of Filthy Frank, but I eventually wrote a song to vent about my life in a more boom bap style.

That first serious song led to me making more music and since then I’ve gotten to collab with Rickutto, Boobie Lootaveli, Zei, American Dead Cross, and more through interconnecting and meeting people on my journey. Honestly, I can thank Discord for 90% of the musical connections I’ve made and those people I’ve met for pushing me further. I’ve never seen myself as incredibly talented but my producers, mixing engineers, and friends say otherwise.
