maxx. (CAN)

AKA: Max Chernykh

maxx. is a Canadian singer, rapper, and songwriter known for his genre-blending sound and emotionally driven lyrics. His musical journey began in 2019 with the release of his first single, “Hard Mode.” Although the track was deleted just three months after its release, it marked the beginning of his experimentation with music and storytelling.

At the age of 16, he released his debut mixtape “FAKE FRIENDS,” a raw and reflective project that explored themes of betrayal, isolation, and identity. The mixtape resonated with listeners for its honesty and lo-fi aesthetic, solidifying his early reputation as an emerging voice with emotional depth.

Before becoming maxx., the artist performed under the moniker A$pect. His transformation was both artistic and symbolic. The release of the EP Funeral marked the creative “death” of A$pect and the birth of a new era. The project was a conceptual farewell to his past self, delving into personal loss, growth, and reinvention. With haunting production and introspective lyrics, Funeral stood as a turning point—closing one chapter and ushering in the emergence of maxx. as a more mature and visionary artist.

As maxx., he continues to push boundaries with his fusion of alternative rap, melodic flows, and experimental soundscapes. His music draws influence from emotional storytelling, contemporary trap, and indie production—bridging vulnerability and confidence with striking clarity.
