Detroit-based musical artist Mathis Wellz started his musical career in 2003 with his brother, . They became enamored with music, writing, and creating Hip-Hop beats and songs on their computer. Slowly but surely, Mathis invested more than fifteen years of his life, dedicating himself to his writing process and style of music, becoming the individual artist he is today. Mathis hasn’t broke into the mainstream yet, but has created small stepping stones to possibly becoming a great artist. Mathis grew up on the East Side of Detroit in the projects, where his journey started to become more noticeable to his then peers and himself. He went on to do shows, but ended up only doing one show with his brother, Chris, located at the HQ on Grand River. He performed a song that is not released on any streaming platforms currently, he called it “Still Gettin' Paid” and one other song he forgets the song title to. Mathis Wellz has featured on several artists songs. To name a few, he’s obviously worked with his brother, Chris Wellz. He’s worked with , and others whose songs have yet to be released. Mathis is interested in many genres, so there’s no category you can place him specifically. Right now, he is aiming towards Indie Rock and Alternative, but you’ll never know with his musical background on what he’ll stick with.
