AKA: Mark Allen Slaughter

Mark Allen Slaughter (born July 4, 1964) is an American singer, songwriter and musician, best known as a founder of hard rock band Slaughter. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, he developed an early interest in music and performance. His musical journey began in his teenage years, and by the early 1980s, he had become an active participant in the burgeoning hard rock and metal scene.

Slaughter’s initial rise to prominence came as the lead singer of the Vinnie Vincent Invasion, a band formed by former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent. Mark joined the group in the mid-1980s, replacing original vocalist Robert Fleischman. His powerful vocal range and energetic stage presence helped define the band’s sound on their 1988 album All Systems Go.

Following the breakup of Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Mark Slaughter co-founded the band Slaughter in 1988 with bassist Dana Strum. The band achieved significant commercial success in the early 1990s with their debut album, Stick It to Ya, which featured hit singles such as “Up All Night,” “Fly to the Angels,” and “Spend My Life.” The album was certified double platinum, establishing Slaughter as a major act during the tail end of the glam metal era. Their follow-up album, The Wild Life, also achieved gold status.

Mark Slaughter’s musical influences include classic rock and hard rock acts such as Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and Queen, as well as vocalists like Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury. His vocal style combines melodic sensibility with the high-energy delivery typical of 1980s metal.

In addition to his work with Slaughter, Mark has released two solo albums; Reflections in a Rear View Mirror and Halfway There. These projects showcase his versatility as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, often featuring him performing guitar, bass, and keyboard parts in addition to vocals.

Beyond music, Mark Slaughter has been involved in various charitable causes, including efforts to support wounded military veterans. He is known for maintaining a connection with his fan base and continues to perform live across the United States and internationally. Mark remains an enduring figure in the hard rock and glam metal community, with a career spanning several decades marked by commercial success, critical recognition, and sustained fan support.
