Lonely Night
Jean Armas, also known as Lonely Night or Lonely Nights, is a Peruvian artist born in May 22, 2007 and serves as the leader of the musical collective “AngelMobb”. His style is an eclectic blend of various genres, predominantly hip-hop, emo-rap, hyperpop, and bedroom pop.
He began his musical journey by covering tracks from artists such as Lil Peep and XXXTENTACION, deeply influenced by the emo-rap scene. Engaging in online communities, he connected with his first collaborators, Shvwty (formerly known as Fer Shawty) and HELLDVCK, Making his first collab song with “My Hoe” and original tracks like “Alive.”
Lonely Night later joined Brigade Mob, later known as OYM Brigade, marking his first posse cut with “XANSCANDYLAND” alongside Shvwty, HELLDVCK, and D1ck. He also explored the spanish scene and hyperpop, collaborating with XDiegoJr on “Tu Presencia” and embarking on his first collaborative EP with kurukuru titled “Luna Carmesí”, alongside English singles in the emo-rap style.
In April, Lonely Night released “Luna Carmesí”, a six-track EP with kurukuru, blending digicore, horrorcore, bedroom pop, and indie rock influences. Following this, he embarked on his debut solo album, initially planned as an EP named “The Pre-Season”. However, he expanded it into a full-length project, releasing singles throughout the gap between May and August.
“The Pre-Season”, released in August, showcased a fresh and cohesive sound, intertwining emo-rap and hyperpop elements. The album delved into themes of romance, insecurities, and personal narratives, solidifying Lonely Night’s identity as an artist.
Post-album release, Lonely Night continued to drop singles, notably “Autumn Break”, inspired by the video game “OMORI.” He also began work on three simultaneous projects, including the development of the musical collective “Angelmobb”, dropping their first mixtape called “Cruel Angels (Vol. 1)”
After one year without any important project, he made his long-awaited return to music with the announcement of his sophomore album, Cartas de Melancolía. Deeply inspired by Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak and the textures of indie pop, the album explores themes of vulnerability, nostalgia, and emotional isolation, marking a significant shift in both sound and artistic direction.
Currently, Lonely remains active and creatively engaged. While details are still under wraps, he is working on what is expected to be his most ambitious project, more elaborate body of work that aims to push his musical boundaries even further. a richer soundscape, more personal storytelling, and a deeper exploration of the emotions is expected for this new project.
