Michael Bocanegra (born August 19, 1996), known better by his stage name lilbootycall, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from San Antonio, Texas. He started releasing music in 2016 and quickly gained attention for his hit song “Sailor Moon.”
On June 21, 2019, lilbootycall released his debut mixtape, Jesus Said Run It Back. It featured popular songs such as “777” and “Hate Me.”
October 2, 2020, lilbootycall released his follow-up EP, 23.
On June 4, 2021, lilbootycall brought a bunch of fan-favorite songs to streaming platforms with the release of 2017. This compilation album featured 16 songs that were previously exclusive to SoundCloud, with classics such as “Oj in My Gucci Bag” and “Aquafina.”
Over the next couple of years, lilbootycall would go fairly silent when it came to releasing music. Releasing a few singles here and there, such as “Sunset Blvd” and “Sugar Cane,” it is unknown as to what caused the multiple year hiatus. He did end up coming back, but only released 5 singles throughout 2024.
After dropping 8 singles in the second half of 2025, lilbootycall teased that two of the tracks released were singles which were to be a part of his upcoming album, pink++.
On January 9, 2026, lilbootycall released his long-awaited return album, pink++.
Following up on March 27, 2026, lilbootycall kept his foot on the gas by dropping purple++, proving he had no intention of slowing down after a massive shift from his quiet years.
By April 2026, he capitalized on this relentless momentum, revealing to the world that his recent drops were actually the foundation of a massive 6 album collection known as the “Color Series.”
With fans already locked in, he announced that the next installment, black++, is set to drop in July 2026.
The highly anticipated series will conclude with three more upcoming projects: yellow++, blue++, and crystal++.
