Lil Ugly Mane, real name Travis Miller, is an artist from Richmond, Virginia. He is very prolific and has explored several genres, such as noise and black metal, before starting to use the Lil Ugly Mane stage name.

Miller also produces music under alternative aliases, such as Shawn Kemp (his beat producer name) and bedwetter (a more poetic and personal outlet of Travis).

Around 2015, Miller had announced that Lil Ugly Mane had become a defunct project. His (now deleted) Facebook post detailing it can be found here.

Although he is seemingly back in the game and no longer defunct, he was active in the now disbanded group ‘Secret Circle’ with Wiki and Antwon, and has since posted four projects on his Bandcamp since January 2017. Those projects range from his first ‘bedwetter’ album to some leftover songs he wanted to share.

In 2021, Miller released an full length album under the Lil Ugly Mane moniker for the first time in six years with the release of VOLCANIC BIRD ENEMY AND THE VOICED CONCERN.

The album explored yet another entirely new sound for Miller that was especially unusual for the Lil Ugly Mane pseudonym. Its soundscape was a mix of dream-pop and trip hop. The lyrics were much more personal and in line with his works in bedwetter In fact, the first single for the song was initially released as a bedwetter song before the album dropped.

He also did a song with Your Old Droog & billy woods later that same year under the Lil Ugly Mane moniker and a writing style more reminiscent of his hip-hop origins. This likely proves that Lil Ugly Mane is going to continue to be Miller’s main alias.
