Lil Eggsoup
Lil Eggsoup, (real name Chase) who was one half of the former meme rap duo CG Boyz, is a young meme rapper from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is often known for his controversial, offensive, and absurd lyrics.
After the release of CG Boyz' last song, Windows 95, the other CG Boy known as “Gatoney Phillips” stopped appearing in songs that featured the CG Boyz. In early 2022, CG Boyz split up, and Eggsoup went off on his own music career. He returned under a new name, and his first release under this new alias was a single called “Orphanage”, which is now only available on YouTube. A few months later, the Us VS The World EP was released, which was a collaboration EP between him and Lil Kori. Around the same time the Retro Lifestyle Single was released, which was a different style of music than Eggsoup’s normal meme rap.
On October 21, 2022, Lil Eggsoup dropped his first full-length album under his new rap name, with 20 tracks. This album being named, “The Laboratory”
In late 2023, Lil Eggsoup bought DistroKid, as he despised his previous distributor, UnitedMasters. With this purchase, he reuploaded “The Laboratory” but cutting many songs off of the tracklist he didn’t like. (meaning there was now only 16 songs) These include Google Meet, DS Thots, (though the single was still up), Dreamland & NUT ON YO WALLS. This version of The Laboratory has its tracklist reversed, with Chill Hub being the first song, and The Laboratory being the last.
Another version of The Laboratory was posted with only 15 songs, It also included a version of Shriveled Up with a whole verse removed from the song (possibly for being too offensive). The songs that were removed in this version of the album were: Racist Outlaws, Small PP Anthem, Google Meet, Hydrated & Im A Gnarly Boy. DS Thots, NUT ON YO WALLS & Dreamland were all added back to the tracklist. The tracklist is also slightly adjusted, as the song “Sleepy” is moved towards the end of the album, rather than the half way point.
On February 18th, 2024, Days Before Lil Eggsoup released containing 4 songs on streaming services like Spotify & Apple music, but presumably 5 songs on Soundcloud, before it was taken down. The song missing from the streaming releases is “Retro”.
On May 26th, 2024, Lil Eggsoup announced via an Instagram story stating the following: “Not gonna be uploading/making music for a while. Potentially quitting and I’m gonna deactivate this account soon.”
In the following days, all of Eggsoup’s songs were taken down. However, a reason for the retirement was never disclosed.
In July-August 2024 it was found by a couple of other meme rappers that all songs from “Days Before Lil Eggsoup” seemingly gained thousands of streams out of nowhere, which is now speculated that the botted songs got his DistroKid banned, resulting in all Eggsoup’s songs getting taken down.
